Herd testing
So far I haven’t seen any extra precautions put in place regarding herd testing equipment. They still go from farm to farm, cow to cow, only relying on the previous farmer to clean the gear to a high standard or not. Wouldn’t this be risky considering it spreads through milk?
1)The milk In herd testing equipment dose not touch cows at the next farm so will be fine, gear should not be dirty on the outside anyway but if dry wouldn’t be risk for MB but let herd testing company know.
2)if using herd testers they will have the same system in place as AI tech - clean & disinfect boots, gear,ect.
3) if self sample delivery guy shouldn’t drop of dirty gear.
